Project Details
The scheme comprised demolishing front and rear elevations and constructing a single storey basement under the main house and a one and a half storey basement under the rear garden of this London property. A reinforced concrete roof deck was constructed and the rear garden with planting re-created above.
The substructure was constructed in sands and gravels to a maximum depth of 4.5 metres with steel trench sheets as back formwork to maintain integrity and prevent migration of subsoil.
The basement area measured 198 square metres and the contract period was thirty-two weeks. Works were completed generally on time and within budget.
